New Challenges

Hello, Reader!!

How is going?!?

The year is well upon us is upon us and I know this one is a BIG one for me. Have you been able to do what you set out to accomplish so far?

Even if you haven't, we are still here and kicking :). I know I have been slacking on email updates, but I have been working through a lot this year & this one comes timely for me.

What did you want to do this year?!?

A tough question, yes. However, most years we focus on too much and try to do way too much. This makes it so that we don't get much of anything done because we are trying to do way too much!

This is not necessarily a bad thing, it is just the way of the human race. We think we can do it all and we end up doing nothing or teensy little bit. Don't feel bad about it.

To combat this phenomenon this year I am focusing on one thing at a time. I am evaluating myself in certain intervals to keep it SMART (specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, & timely).

Despite the best intentions, I still end up doing too much. Every night I have been busy with some activity. Most people would say this is no way to recharge.

Maybe true for most, but enjoying the thrills of nature on a trail or in a bike saddle is recharging for me!!

Did you make progress on your New Year's resolution(s)?

It's OK if the answer is NO because that puts it with the majority. Most people make lofty goals and never do them for a variety of reasons. Let's stop right now and create goals that make sense. These goals do not have to wait for a new year. New year's resolutions are common because people feel like the new year is a start to something new.

Make a goal that you are 80% to 90% confident you can accomplish it.

  • Want to start eating healthier?
    • How? Why (ask yourself 5 times)?
      • Uncover the root cause behind this goal and make it actionable.

For instance, perhaps your goal should be to start eating healthier by cooking more at home. This is something you can accomplish. Say you eat out 5/7 days per week.

Think about what is easy for you. Can you cook 3 days a week instead of 2?? Make it easy!!!

My goals this year!

This is the year of renewal for me. To follow what I am preaching this involves going back to the basics. I am doing things that make me happy (renew my spirit).

This is the main purpose of this email as I wrote a comprehensive blog post as I have been delving into my parents' journal while I was out for the count at the end of 2020.

Reading about the time you nearly passed is not fun for anyone. I had a strong intuition and some spiritual guidance to do so. It was not the most fun, but I am happy I did so.

What we can take away from my near-death experience (NDE)

My blog post is linked here as it can give a much more comprehensive look into what I am thinking after reading about my NDE.

The biggest takeaway is to remember that especially here in the US we have it a lot better than a lot of other people (even other people in our home country).

This NDE reminded me that I am put here for greater purposes and that the universe/God has bigger plans for me. It feels GOOD to think that about my life...

How are you feeling

Please let me know how you have been making out this year. I do not this to be a one-way conversation. Reach out if you would like to talk or schedule something to catch up here.

The other thing I took home is that we are a mix of the people we spend the most time with. Spend your time with people who fill with you joy & challenge your beliefs in a good way!

Hit reply and let me know how you are doing & how I can support you!

Yours in travel and adventure,

Joe

Greetings, Reader! I hope all is well!! I wanted to write this email as I have been negligent in keeping you updated due to various excuses. Regardless, I am happy to be sending out an email as I travel to Georgia (the country in Europe!). How has your year been going? I know most of you are not the typical person, but have you been able to complete any of your...
